I spent two weeks in the Wilds of New Zealand.
I even petted cheetahs.
I also traipsed through Middle Earth.
And spent some time under the party tree at Hobbiton.
[pictures to that are securely tucked under lock and key though so you'll just have to miss out on that]
But of course now it's back to work. Enter the giveaway below and keep your eyes pealed for some new First Page Shooter posts going up later this week.

Five Random Things About Suzie
1. I drink so much orange soda, it's probably running through my veins. I've been known to go through a twelve pack of diet sunkist in a day.
2. I'm legitimately nocturnal (or a vampire). I will be so exhausted at two pm that I'm falling asleep standing up - it has happened before, at Six Flags no less - but as soon as the sun goes down I'm wide awake.
3. I have a gorgeous unused $6000 Reem Acra wedding dress hanging in my closet, and it showed up on my doorstep the same day my (now ex) fiance broke up with me. And thank God for that. I wouldn't have wanted to waste that dress on him.
4. Social anxiety plagues me daily. I write a script and practice in front of the mirror when I have to make a phone call, but most people who interact with me have no idea how nervous I am (or perhaps they lie) because I've worked so hard to try to overcome it.
5. I'm actually worried that I will never love my children (when I do have them in the far off future) as much as I love my dogs. I just like animals better than people - they're sweet and innocent and soft and furry - is that so wrong?

Welcome back! Looks like you had a lovely time.
omg Cheetahs purr???
Good to hear you're back!
Yes! They're the only big cats that can purr but not roar.
I hope you enjoyed my fair country. I think you picked a period of both the best and the worst weather NZ has to offer...
*dies of envy*
One of my MUST VISIT places before I die. Great pics!
Aww, take me with you next time. It looks incredible there.
Glad you enjoyed our beautiful country :) As Kate said it was the best & worst time weather wise.. but we've always been rather 4 seasons in a day ;p
I'll bet that was a fantastic and refreshing experience!
Welcome back to "Zealand of news that will make your head spin."
I take it you missed the whole Senator Weiner fiasco.
As I said, I'll bet that was a fantastic and refreshing experience!
I'm jealous.
Oh my goodness, I'm so jealous! I must visit Middle Earth one day. I'd prefer to live there, of course :P
Welcome back!
I will try and rein in my jealousy over the pictures. :-P
Two weeks in New Zealand?
I'm beyond envious. Welcome back.
I am soo jealous… glad you made it back safely.
NZ is beautiful and home for me. I always smile when I hear that accent. I used to sound like that? Nau mai ki te wā kāinga - welcome home.
I'm incredibly jealous. Of all the places I've visited, NZ is my hands-down favorite. I can't believe you petted a cheeta! That's beyond cool.
Welcome home. I'm so envious. One of my daughters was there for a month this winter and loved it. It's one of the places in the world I'd love to visit.
Wow! Welcome home! I'm going to need you to sell a bunch more of my books now, so I can go there, too! ;)
*runs off to write commercial blockbusters*
Welcome back Suzie, love the photos! I had a holiday there paid for once, but had to cancel at the last minute :( And I've never made it back, even though it's just a quick plane trip away.
Can't wait for more First Page Shooters, they're such a great help :)

Welcome back! Oh mans. SOMEDAY I swear I will get out to New Zealand.
Also, I know it's crazy but after hearing that purr? I want a cheetah for a pet.
One does not simply pet a cheetah...
Wow. Fantastic. I'm going to New Z this winter - is there anything I should think about?
My husband and I spent two weeks on the south island in 2008. It is truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. And the people are lovely.
Welcome back from Middle Earth. Mabye I should go while I'm in the East. It's not that far from Japan...
Absolutely gorgeous!
Totally jealous about the cheetah. Looks like you had a great time. Welcome back!
Ah...If I could journey to Middle Earth would I come back? I'd be dragged back that's for sure -- by my husband! Good thing dreams are free! I'm glad you had a good time and actually was able to come back by your own free will! You are made out of sterner stuff than I!
Great photos! And the cheetah, wow. So awesome!
So jealous. I petted my dog today. Well not really. It ran by me and I think my hand brushed it's back.
Welcome home!
